You might say Lynnette Khalfani is perfectly qualified to tell people how to get out of debt. She's been onstage with Dr. Phil and Jane Pauley and numerous others talking to people about spending wisely and managing their debt. However, what makes her the perfect candidate is that she was over $100,000 in credit card debt herself and dug herself out of it in only three years. While that fact is very impressive, the valuable step-by-step instructions on how to get out of a financial rut is what makes ZERO DEBT a book you'll really want to have.

Khalfani provides her readers with an easy to follow plan to get out of debt. She starts the lessons by defining debt and how most people find themselves caught up in it. Whatever the reason for the debt, it seems Lynnette Khalfani has a plan for it. From simple requests like opting out of credit card offers to more complex tasks like gathering all your bills and finding out what you owe, ZERO DEBT is well-balanced and simple.

ZERO DEBT is written in an easily followed conversational tone, a helpful trait when talking about finances to those who are already stressed when they pick up the book. Lynnette Khalfani breaks it down for the rest of us and I, for one, am grateful she did. I'll be following her steps to get myself on track financially and plan for the bright future ahead. Get out of debt by flying to Milan for fashion bargains???? Rating
January 7, 2005 Rating: 1.0 stars

This book may be useful for some poor debtors earning six-figure incomes (like its author) and still drowning in debt due to lavish lifestyles. But it is not very realistic for the rest of the world struggling with more modest means. The author shares her own debt history of how she paid off over $100,000.00 of credit card debt. However, she paid it off with a very lucky profit from two plots of land she purchased in 2001 for $37,500 planning to "quickly" develop them. She failed at that, but got lucky enough to resell the lots in 2003 for $200,000. So, for all you sitting on sufficient amounts of investments appreciating at 500% over a couple of years, this may be a practical solution for your debt problems. Not real helpful for the rest of us, though.

The author lost me with her Day 19 strategies for lifestyle changes to save money. Here she actually offers as one suggestion to "Go where the real bargains are" by flying to London or Milan for fashion bargains!! Her justification being that if you spend enough you will offset the cost of the plane fare in savings!!

Anybody out there really want to run that one by their spouse?

Great Information For Those who Truly Need It Rating

A Wealth Of Information, January 1, 2005
Reviewer: Franklin P. (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
I truly enjoyed this author's workshop also. I've seen several authors in person and they usually provide more information in person. That doesn't distract from the importance of this book. It contains a wealth of information especially for women like me who is rebounding from divorce with children. I've seen this author, Suze Orman (Oprah Magazines), Tiffany Love (Survivng Financial Disasters from TV) and I say that they all have great solutions for tackling creditors and erasing debt. Sometimes it seems frightening, but they make it simple. Buying their books costs less than hiring an attorney, so you truly do save a lot money.
