LONDON, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- With the news that women who wear the wrong bra size could be
damaging their breasts, Bravissimo, the retailer for big boobed women, wants
to empower women with an understanding of how a bra looks and feels when it
fits well, so they know what to look for themselves when trying on bras.
In order to help take the mystery - and fear - out of bra
fitting, the retailer has launched an online bra fitting experience,
available to view in The Perfect Fit section at http://www.bravissimo.com .
There are two options; a Quick Fit Guide, which gives short
and simple tips on how to find a correctly-fitting bra, and the Full
Experience, just as you would have in a Bravissimo store.
Bravissimo demonstrates how a bra that fits should look and
feel, showing how the retailer chooses to fit simply by eye rather than the
more complicated, and less accurate, method of using a tape measure.
Jacqui Jagger, Bravissimo's Customer Service Director,
explains; "Finding the perfect fit is something everyone can do themselves
once they know what to look for. At Bravissimo we aim to empower women with
the knowledge of how a bra should fit. This is especially important because
one size, brand or style doesn't necessarily fit or suit all. Boobs can vary
in terms of volume, shape and even spacing of the breasts, so just like with
shoes you really need to try a bra on before you buy it. Another tip is to
put a fitted top on over the style you're trying so you can see the kind of
shape it gives you."
Jacqui hopes the online video service will encourage more
women to think about how their bra fits them and discover the benefits for
themselves.
She adds; "Finding the right fit can transform the way you
look and how you feel about yourself."
Bravissimo's three step check for the perfect fitting bra
1) The strap around your body should be firm but comfortable.
When you stand side-on at a mirror, the strap that runs around your
body should be horizontal and should not ride up at the back at all.
2) The wires at the front should lie flat against your rib cage and
should not dig in, rub or poke out at the front.
3) Your breasts should be enclosed in the cups and you should have
a smooth line where the fabric at the top of the cup ends and meets
your bust. You shouldn't have any ridge or bulging over the top or
sides of the cups, even if you are wearing a balconette style or lower
cut shape.
